England Captain Andrew Strauss has demanded that players found guilty of match fixing should be banned from cricket for life.

Strauss said: "If someone is found categorically guilty, then the only way for me is for that person not to be able to play international cricket again

His call comes amidst allegations against the 18 year old Pakistani fact bowler Mohammad Amir, who has been accused of bowing no balls at pre-arranged times during the fourth test at Lords, also known as spot fixing.

Pakistan’s Captain Salmon Butt and Mohammad Asif have also been implicated in the scandal.

With a subdued atmosphere at Lords yesterday, England took the final 6 Pakistan wickets to complete their win by an innings and 225 runs, giving England a 3-1 series win and Pakistan a record loss.

The after match presentations were held in the Long Room after the ICC,ECB and MCC decided doing them in front of the fans would pose a security risk, leaving hundreds of fans feeling disappointed and angry.

The futures of the two twenty 20 matches as well as the five one day internationals are now in doubt. It is difficult to see how they can be played when it is not known whether the allegations are true or not.
