Luke Wright commits his future to Sussex.

Luke Wright has extended his contract with Sussex committing to a new three year deal. The deal keeps the 24 year old at Hove until the end of the 2012 season. Wright joined the county from Leicestershire when he was just 19. Since then the all rounder has achieved international success becoming a regular fixture for England in the short formats of the game.

Wright is currently on England duty in South Africa where the tourists lead the series 2-1. He told reporters of his delight with the new deal.

"The contract extension is exciting for me. I want to be a big part of a bright future for the club."
"I love playing for Sussex. The county have been great in helping me achieve my goal of playing for England," he said. "I look forward to winning more trophies in years to come."

The all rounder’s aggressive batting style and ability to score quickly has earned Wright a reputation as an outstanding one day cricketer. During a Twenty20 match against Kent in 2007 Wright scored 105 from only 45 balls. His ODI debut followed later that summer against India. Sussex cricket manager Mark Robinson was equally delighted to secure the services of Wright for the coming seasons, no doubt well aware of the commercial value of such an exciting talent.
Robinson said, "Luke is one of the most exciting young players in the country. We're delighted that he has committed to the club for the immediate future."
