Woodworm sponsored cricketer Kyle Mills was the top scoring batsman for New Zealand in their match against India.
The match, part of the Sri Lanka Triangular series was played yesterday at the Rasngiri Dambulla Stadium.
New Zealand lost by 105 runs, but without the 52 from Mills, they would probably have broken their lowest total in ODI. From 52 for 7 Mills took New Zealand to a more respectable 118 with his rapid half century, just 35 balls to reach 52. He took two sixes off Ravindra Jadeja and one off Praveen Kumar
"When I went out to bat, I just tried to be as aggressive as I possibly could," Mills said. "There probably was no expectation of you to go out and chase down 220 runs. I was fortunate I was able to get myself in for the first six or so balls and I decided I would be aggressive. I got a couple in my areas and I was able to get them away."
New Zealand captain Ross Taylor believes that 107 run stand between India’s Virender Sehwag and MS Dhoni was the turning point in the game.
The result of this match means that India and Sri Lanka will go through to the final of the Tournament on Friday.
