    Flintoff in England Squads

    Andrew Flintoff has been named for all three England Squads for the upcoming series. The 31 year old has been named in the squad for the one day international and Twenty20 series against Australia as well ashes ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa.

     
    Paul Collingwood is going to lead the England squad against Ireland and the Twenty20 games before Strauss returns.
    Steve Harmison (fast bowler) and Ian Bell (batsman) are omitted but James Forster, Dimitri Mascarenhas, Alastair Cook and Rob Key have not made the team.


    Flintoff has been named in the England’s 14 man party to travel to Belfast for the Ireland One Day international however he will be retiring from Test cricket after the Ashes.
    England have an extremely busy line up with to Twenty20 internationals against Australia at Old Trafford.  Flintoff has had knee problem all the way through the Ashes with Lancashire all rounder missing the last test.
    Geoff Miller has said that he is a main member of the one day squads. “He says he still want to play one day cricket and here is the opportunity.”


    Adil Rashid, Yorkshire leg spinner, has discarded batsman Ravi Bopara, wicketkeeper Matt Prior and batsman Owais Shah are aksi included in all three squads. Jonathan Trott is only included in the Twenty20 however he is replacing Bopara.
    "We have kept faith with the bulk of the squad which was successful in the NatWest Series against West Indies and also included two players, Luke Wright and Adil Rashid, who were part of our squad for the ICC World Twenty20," Miller added.


    "Joe Denly has impressed the selectors for a while with some excellent performances in one-day cricket - and with Kevin Pietersen unavailable through injury, this is an excellent opportunity for Joe to step up to the next level and show what he is capable of."
