Craig Kieswetter Hits Big for England
Craig Kieswetter hit 143 in his England debut, the wicketkeeper managed to score six sixes and 13 fours in a total of 370-7.
Paul Collingwood gave us 109 from 74 balls and Alastair Cook hit 56 in his opening stand of 127. Kieswetter has recently qualified to play for his adopted country and has starred on the Lions tour against Pakistan A in Dubai. His form was so impressive that England’s deciders felt they needed to fast track him on to the national side with immediate effect.
The 22 year-old did well in Bangladesh but wasn’t short of a lot of lucky breaks. He was dropped four times and Shahin Hossain missed a chance to stump him out. Kieswetters timing, natural ability and positivity are exactly what England need for the future.
Kevin Pietersen didn’t do quite as well in Dubai against Pakistan, he suffered a badly judged lbw on his very first delivery.
Shahzad played exceptionally well, he removed both Pakistan openers in the first over and clean bowled the home skipper for 8.
